Trust for Public Land

Situation: TPL is a non-profit group that seeks to preserve and protect open space and natural lands throughout the country.

Response: Over the past few years, our polling has been instrumental in the success of 12 referenda for the Trust for Public Land. Considering how difficult it is to get people to vote to raise their taxes - even for education - and the fact that these campaigns are run by locals with small budgets, this accomplishment is even more impressive. One key is the delivery of a comprehensive core package of data specific to the project that can be readily deployed and that, among other things, identifies voters’ tax tolerance, the appropriate funding mechanism, core and swing supporters, salient themes, concern for growth & development, primary objections, and precise ballot language.
